I once tried to post a comment on on...Jim is a nut. I once tried to post a comment on one of his FAIR posts and was unable to. I assumed (incorrectly, it turned out) that FAIR was blocking me. I complained about this perceived slight on FB and he lammed in to me for "slandering" FAIR or some such. There followed a really unpleasant exchange which continued long after I'd copped to having been wrong about my difficulties in posting to his site.

I remember FAIR was criticizing the American press' coverage of Saddam Hussein. It seems our journalists suddenly noticed he was a dictator. The lead to the piece in FAIR was, "American goes to war against Iraq. The press laces its combat boots." My objection to the press coverage about Saddam was not that it was unfair, but where the heck had they been the previous decade. To say it's unfair (or unFAIR) for the press to call Saddam a tyrant and a murderer just struck me as disgraceful. (This is not to say that the American press' coverage of Iraq in the months leading up to the war was anything but cowardly and shameful.)

And now FAIR's replaying this scenario in Syria.

Putin bombs Syria and FAIR laces up its combat boots.
